With "Through The Eyes Of Fire" Unearth have stepped up their riffy, breakdown-heavy, assailing metalcore formula into something entirely new and refreshing in a genre that's unfortunately suffering from not being very fresh. With double the thrash, and triple the searing guitar ferocity on this record than most of the surrounding bands today could muster in a lifetime, Unearth have proved yet again with this release that they are still the premier banner bearers for hardcore and metal fusion. Unlike their previous album, 2004's "The Oncoming Storm," which suffered slightly from predicitibility in it's noodle noodle chugga chugga format, this record sees Unearth at their prime. Blending jaw dropping musicianship with complex, rapid fire song structures and brutal vocals, Unearth shows they are a force to be reckoned with, and while many of the tired, cookie cutter metalcore bands of today will eventually fade into anonymity, Unearth has released an album that will no doubt stand the test of time, despite the trends of their day.
