When did you guys start "The Hoodies?"
We started jamming in my basement in high school, but the band really came together in 2004.

How did you come up with your band name?
We wanted to make the world warm and comfortable.

What are some of the things you have gone thru as a band?
Deep personal tragedies.

What effect do you think American Idol has on the american music industry?
The same as MTV.

What effect do you think things like MySpace and PureVolume are doing to the american music industry?
Decentralizing music. People can listen to whatever they want whenever they want it.

Do you think record labels will be extinct soon?
No. Kids have it in their heads that record labels are necessary, so I think they'll remain relevant. You will see them turning more into "music companies" though as opposed to record labels. You can already see it happening with bands like Paramore I think. The label builds the band as a brand.

This week is national red ribbon week, why shouldn't kids in school do drugs?
No one should do drugs!

With our current economic situation, have you seen any difference in album and merch sales?
A little bit? Not too much. I think kids parents are hit harder than them.

Anything you would like to say to your fans reading this interview?
Hi!
