Shoot It Up @ Alex's Bar, LB 8/25/08

Written Aug 26, 2008.

The show started at Alax's bar in Long Beach, CA, and was for a girl's 21st birthday party. After some mic problems the first band started. I forgot their name but they have 2 of the same members from Shoot It Up. They started with a bang! Straight up punk, very fast guitars, fast drumming and a slapping bass all with an original vocals yet still keeping it old school. Their myspace doesn’t even compare to how good they are live. Go see them!

Next was Shoot It Up, punk band from the OC area. The lead singer DeeRok from the first band plays drums in this band as well. The vocals were a little bit quiet tonight but still good... let me just jump straight into telling you how good the drummer is in this band. Ok, to go from playing guitar and singing for a set then just walk back to the drums and play another set it amazing and I give him a hi five! Back to the drumming, he was fast, all over the place but still had good timing and good beats, couldn’t hear any mess-ups or off timing. Then towards the end of their set the drummer started to get up and switched with the guitarest and sung "Come on Ilean" by Bixbys Midnight Runner I believe. Good live stage performance Amazing set. If you like punk rock and enjoy a good show GO see this band or check them out

the 3rd band... oh the third band. So I don’t know their name, but they were like a bro core slower metal rock, like a bad version of Linkin Park. I was not impressed, It seemed like they had some skill but just wasn’t using it in this band. We left before this band ended but will someone leave a comment letting me and everyone know who this band was.

4th band. I didn’t get a chance to see them actually play "music" But I had a feeling from the way they were acting and who I met, it probably wasn’t going to be good.
