What is your MySpace? www.myspace.com/muertemusic

What is your PureVolume? www.purevolume.com/muertemusic

What genre is your music?
Metal/Death Metal/Progressive

What are some of the shows you have comming up? We have a show March 23rd with some local bands called SYX and Lunaractive. And also we will be doing our CD release in early march.

How did you come up with your band name?
We saw it on a tee shirt and I liked it- NOT another band's tee- (there was a story behind it that the dude working at hot topic told me.) And ya, it just went from there. We also liked how it was different than everything else that's out now.

What venue would you like to play the most that you haven't played at?
Dude, we wanna get down to Cali, and we are this summer with Betrayed By Tragedy and As Beauty Burns To Ashes. We'll be hitting up Cali (the whole state), Reno, Carson City, Las Vegas, Arizona (big cities), some of Utah, and Idaho. It'll be fun.

What makes you strive to be heard?
Getting our message out and just the thought of road life for me at least.

What inspires most of your lyrics?
Jesus Christ and also our probems and feelings.

What brought your band together?
A kid on a school bus with a bass, and a fat loudmouthed emo kid with glasses that saw it and wanted a band.

Where have you been playing lately and how has your response been?
We havent played in the last month, but our last show in January was completely packed!

Do you have any advice to starting bands?
No matter how the scene is changing, and no matter who makes fun of your band or says crap about your ability... DONT LISTEN!!! If we had listened to all the emo kids who just wanted music to cut to, we would have quit a year ago. But now we are pretty successful.

What is the worst thing about music?
I would have to say that the worst thing for me was the fact that everyone loved to say a bunch of crap about how we suck, and how all the other Metal bands in Camas suck and stuff. That was pertty discouraging, but again, you have to push through it. Even if one kid is diggin your stuff it's worth it... That is, if you are doing a band for the right reasons (for fun and to reach out to different people).

What do you want to see happen through music in the future?
I'm gonna say that I want Metal to get bigger (not that it isn't) up in Washington and Oregon because it's mostly stuff like James Blunt and Dashboard up here. Don't get me wrong, they're both amazingly talented, but the metal scene just isn't here. Also, I want to see people moving more at shows. Still audiences aren't any fun.

What are you doing to progress those ideas?
Just spreading the word on all our favorite bands/friend's bands and playing a lot.

What other instruments can you all play (other than the ones you currently play in the band)?
Haha. None really. I just play guitar. I suck at singing and drums... Who can't play the bass? I don't even count that since I play guitar. lol.

What religion are you?
We're all Christians.

Does your religion effect your music?
Yes.

Any funny or interesting stories?
Haha. Well at our video shoot our drummer locked the keys in the trunk and it was already midnight... Haha. Then we went up to the pitch black mountains where we met a bunch of drunk dudes blarin Skynnard. lol.

What do you think about UFOs?
They're hot. I want one to come take me away. :)

What do you guys do for work right now, other than playing music?
Me and Ben (other Guitarist) work at a music shop in Portland, OR called Carlson Musical.

What advantage do you have above other people because you play music?
Well...
GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS!!!
Haha. Kidding. But we're definately hotter. Everyone who watched MTV knows that.

What were some of your favorite bands growing up?
AFI, Anti-Flag, Metallica, Pantera, etc. I loved (and still do love) 80s Metal and some punk.

Do you know to play a ukulele?
No way man, i'm American.

Every bands music changes over the years, but do you like playing the old stuff?
No. lol. Our old stuff is so weak compared to our new heaviness. haha.

Anything you would like to say to your fans reading this interview?
Well, I doubt anyone out there likes us, but if so then THANK YOU!!!

Do you ever get/find groupies?
Ben does. He's a hairy little lass.

What's your latest cd?
What have we done? (For our hands to be covered in his blood...)

How did you come up with the title?
Ben did. He's a genious.

How long did you wait from start to finish making the CD and how did it feel? (did it take to long, or go by fast)
Way too long... lol.

What do you guys think about it?
I'm proud of it.

Where can we get it?
From us. (?) haha.

What do you want people to get out of listening to Muerte?
That we are all about fun, and that we love our fans to death.

What did your fans say about it?
About?

Any advice for anyone thinking about making a CD?
Get your stuff super tight before you go in. Don't jump the gun, because you will regret it majorly. Also, on guitars, make sure you ALWAYS double track. It is a night and day difference, and it will make your record go from crap to amazing. All the big bands double track, its a necessity.

What do you think of Big Smile?
Awesome dudes, awesome site, awesome mag. 5 Stars.
