It may only take you forty minutes to actually listen to Signed and Sealed in Blood but the experience feels like an all night, no regrets, no girls allowed, bender with the boys.

Dropkick Murphys have adopted the AC/DC, Ramones work ethic: know what you do and do the HELL out of it. DKM puts out a high quality, easily recognizable album every year or so to a rabid and expanding fan base and Signed and Sealed in Blood is no exception.

The seven piece band have always been totally unapologetic homers and why not? The proletariat streets of Boston have given them a lifetime of colorful material. Winners, losers, family, friends, and enemies all get their braggin’, bawlin’, NUTin’ and boozin’ on with equal measure in the Dropkick Murphys neighborhood. Signed and Sealed in Blood is a loose yet seamless collection of 12 rollicking tunes that run from the early days of the Bo Socks (Jimmy Collins’ Wake) through this Christmas (The Season’s Upon Us) and every pub, prison, and tattoo parlor in between. The disc is produced by Ted Hutt (Flogging Molly, Bouncing Souls, Gaslight Anthem) who does a fine job seeing to it that Les Paul’s and tin whistles get along well in the mix.

Dropkick Murphys are a fan’s band first and foremost. Signed and Sealed in Blood will add more members to the clan and leave them all feeling hung over, stitched up, and yelling for more.
