What is your MySpace? myspace.com/camdenrock

What is your PureVolume? purevolume.com/camdenlv

What genre is your music? Its sort of an indie pop/rock i guess haha. its pretty hard to classify.

Who got you interested in playing this kind of music? I mean we have all taken classes in school whether its band or choir. so we have always loved music. why not make some music ourselves you know?

What is music to you? Music is everything. Its our way of expressing emotion. Its an amazing feeling to feel a certain emotion and create a song that lets other people feel exactly how we were at that moment.

How did you come up with your band name? There really isnt no real meaning or awesome story behind it. Basically we needed a name, I thought of it from Camden Yards in Baltimore and we all liked it. Were not even Baltimore fans!!

What other bands have you been in, why did they end
or how are they going? I have been in one other band and Dave had been in one as the lead singer but they both just sort of ended. The typical high school band story I guess. Me and Danny started this one under a different name with some other members. They all left and we then got Jon and Dave. Its been this way for about a year and half.

Did you have any previous band names? (with same band members) With us four members now, we have had just Camden. We wont mention the names we had before this with the other members haha! we regret them...

What are some of your shows comming up? Were playing the Alley in Fullerton on the 18th of course and then were playing in our hometown in Las Vegas on April 27th.

What venue would you like to play the most that you haven't played at? House of Blues for sure. We finally got the chance to play Chain Reaction a few weeks ago which was amazing. There are so many great venues in Califonia that we can't wait to play.

What venue has been the best to play at? In our hometown there is a new venue called the University Theatre which is awesome. Any touring band should check it out. Chain Reaction was awesome of course.

What city or area has been the best place to play? Utah is always good to us. Were just starting out down in southern California. So far its been awesome. We love it.

When, Where and How was your first show if you can remember? Our first show was at a place called the Roadhouse in Las Vegas. It doesnt exist anymore but it was pretty rough. Jon was in the band for maybe 3 days before playing it. He didnt even have all the lyrics down. We video taped it and every time we watch it, its pretty bad. Sort of embarrassing haha.. but its classic.

How have you seen yourselves get better since then? Everything has changed. Our music style, our song writing, our look haha. We have just become more mature.

Where was your best show? The show that gave us the most momentum into the scene was for sure when we played with Panic at the Disco in Vegas. It was when theye were huge but nowhere near where they are now. We played in front of about 450 kids and it was just great exposure, of course. We were just getting started in the Vegas scene so that was a huge boost.

Who do you one day want to play a show with or open for that you havent allready? The Early November for sure. We have always looked up to them. They have been a huge influence on us.

Why do you play music? We play music for the love of it. There is nothing better in this world. If youre given a gift, you cant waste it. We were given the gift of music so why not put it to use.

What makes you strive to be heard? The reaction we get from fans is awesome. When they tell us our music has touched them, it makes us work even harder to touch as many people as we can.

What inspires most of your lyrics? Life. Our new EP The Tree Cycle is a story about life. It can be applied to everyone.

What you are saying thru your music? You will have to buy the cd to find out! no basically were saying no matter what comes in life that brings you down or holds you back, you can always overcome it.

How many people in the band right now are the original band members? (explain new members) As Camden, we are the original 4 members minus one. We used to have another guitarist.

When was your band formed? Camden came about maybe summer of '05?

Where do you wish for your band to be in 5 years? Hopefully we'll be signed and on the road constantly by then. Playing music full time is our dream.

What do you think its going to take to get there? Everything we have. Our time, dedication, money, everything. To make it in this music business today you almost cant just rely on the music anymore. You have to make it happen.

What do you want to see happen thru music in the future? I want to see music change the world. Someone someday will write THE song everyone in the entire world will have to hear before they die. Maybe it will be us, maybe not. But I think there is a song yet to be written that everyone in the entire world will be affected by.

What are you doing to progress those ideas? Were just making music that means the world to us. Maybe one day more and more people will catch on and understand it. For those of you who have, thank you.

What do you think about UFOs? If I saw one in real life then I would have a lot to say about them haha! Until then I dont think they exist.

What do you guys do for work right now, other than playing music? We all do different things. I work at a car wash, Jon works retail, Dave and Danny work at the gym. Hopefully we can all quit one day!

Does being involved in playing music make you miss out on anything? I mean i'll talk to friends from high school that say I should have went cuz im missing out on that whole experience. But I figure I can always go to school. Not everyone gets to do what we do. I wouldnt trade it for anything.

What were some of your favorite bands growing up? Blink 182 of course. If anyone in a band today says they didnt like Blink then they are lying. They influenced us all. We were all fans of the Drive Thru Records years also. Bands like that influenced us like crazy.

Have you lost any fans for doing something drastic? (like moving to a bigger label, changing your sound, ect) Our sound has changed a lot with our new cd. We used to be this pop sensation but now we have finally found the sound we enjoy and that means something to us. We may lose some fans because of it but I think we will gain more of a different crowd.

Every bands music changes over the years, but do you like playing and the style of the old stuff? Its always fun to play old songs when you havent played them in a while. It brings back great memories. But I couldn't play that style every day.

Anything you would like to say to your fans reading this interview? Thanks for reading! You mean the world to us. If you arent a Camden fan, come out to one of our shows and we guaruntee you will fall in love.

How was your last tour? We actually just cancelled a tour due to van problems. Were pretty bummed. Our last real tour was awesome. We went with our good friends Ashbury so that was awesome. We cant wait to get back out on the road.

How does it feel to tour with the band members? Were already 4 best friends. But living in a van with your 4 best friends just opens your eyes to so much more. I mean yeah there are always going to be dissagreements and fights but overall we wouldnt rather be in any other band with anyone else. Its awesome to be pursuing our dreams together.

What do you guys do on the road to keep busy? Myspace on the laptop haha!

Do you have any advice to bands about to go on their first tour? Be prepared haha. its not always what everyone thinks. its pretty rough at first. We have had plenty of nights where we're eating cup of noodles on the sidewalk because we have no money haha!

What's your latest cd? The Tree Cycle EP

How did you come up with the title? Its a concept. You will have to buy it to underdstand it haha...seriously though.

How long did you wait from start to finish making the
CD and how did it feel? (did it take to long, or go by fast) Its a just a 5 song EP so it went by pretty fast in the studio. We spent maybe a week. Then it took about another month and a half to actually finisg getting it packaged. It was a long overdue process but we could'nt be happier. It turned out amazing.

Where can we get it? As of right now just at our shows. Well have an online link to buy it on our myspace very soon.

What do you want people to get out of listening to "The Tree Cycle"? We want them to take it however it affects them. It will affect everyone differently since it applies to every situation in life. Hopefully it will change your life somehow.

What did your fans say about it? We have had a great response so far. Our fans are shocked from the style change but its for the best. Its one of those things where you have to listen to it more than once to understand.
